Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Malaysian football fans will get to watch Manchester United's 1st team live in action this summer in Kuala Lumpur. This was announced by Dato' Azzuddin Ahmad, of FAM, when he revealed details of the match at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

The Manchester United Asia Tour 2009 kicks off in Kuala Lumpur on July 18, and then moves on to Jakarta on July 20. After that, the Devils will play in Seoul, Korea and Hangzhou, China on July 24 and July 26 respectively.

ProEvents, the leading football marketing and management consultancy in Asia, has been appointed as the sole and exclusive overall tour organiser of the Manchester United Asia Tour 2009.

"As the match in Malaysia will be held on a Saturday, this weekend treat will delight many families, and outstation fans alike, particularly since kick-off will be at 5.30pm. It would also be a great opportunity for tourists – both local and foreign - to enjoy their time in Kuala Lumpur," said Dato' Azzuddin Ahmad.

According to Mr San Boon Wah, Managing Director of ProEvents International Sdn Bhd, "This will be ProEvents' sixth Asia tour with Manchester United, and the third for Malaysia. We are delighted to be working with FAM to bring to Malaysia one of the world’s legendary football clubs. The Club and the players are really looking forward to playing here."

"We have established an excellent relationship with Manchester United through the years, and we are excited with the latest opportunity to work with the club again, and to bring to Asia one of the world’s most exciting and biggest football clubs in the world. Fans will recollect that the Club last played in Malaysia in 2001," added San.

"The Club is widely popular throughout the world and especially so in Asia where it has a wide fan base. I am sure that many football fans, both local and from the region, are thrilled for this opportunity to see their Champions live in action, San continued.

According to Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill in a press statement, he said: "We are delighted to be coming back to Asia for our summer tour. The passion and excitement of the games has to be experienced to be believed. The tour is great preparation for the new season, a chance to engage with our commercial partners and for us to meet the local communities through our work with the MU Foundation."

David Gill added, "Our relationship with fans in Malaysia is already well established with local young people having the chance to learn to play the game the Manchester United way with MU Soccer Schools."

A comprehensive program will be drawn up to welcome Manchester United to Kuala Lumpur. For more information and news, please visit
